Yii Project Cycle
Through the Youth Impact Institute Project Cycle, youth learn about their community, explore opportunities to support their community and decide on ways they want to have an impact. They then develop a Youth Impact Project that can be put into action.
Our Goals are to:
Guide students through a deep dive of discovery of their community in development of their Youth Impact Project.
Deepen students understanding of what it means to be a citizen of their community and how their voice can have an impact.
Inspire understanding in social justice, empathy, perspective, cultural awareness, government protocol, citizenship, and communication.
Develop courage in students abilities to share their voice, collaborate with others, and know they can have an impact.
Enhance executive functioning skills in time management, project management, and planning.
Share their Youth Impact Projects with their community.
Share joy, curiosity, and excitement in learning and action.
Youth Impact Project Cycle
The Youth Impact Project Cycle is designed to guide students in how to educate themselves, develop a plan, and effectively share their voice on how they have taken action to improve their community.
STEP 1 - IMAGINE: A deep dive into learning about their community and imagine how they can support and have an impact in their community.
STEP 2 - PLAN: Develop goals, a timeline, and the tasks they will need to complete to put their vision into action.
STEP 3 - WORK: Get busy. Put their plan into action. Talk to experts, seek feedback, reflect, adjust, complete their goals, use their voice, take action.
STEP 4 - SHARE: Showcase their efforts, share with their community, feel proud about the impact they have had, reflect, continue forward.
